Artist Statement

Much of my work has been developed within the realist movement, although it intentionally, at certain moments, slides into a partial abstraction, seeking formal and figurative deconstruction to create a language where the protagonist is the concept I wish to convey and the way of expressing it. This also provides me with the possibility of externalizing the subjectivity of life and its people.

The mobility of bodies is a fundamental right of every human being, and for each one to be able to walk, there must be a surface beneath them to move freely, as well as the necessary means to guarantee their movement. Metaphorically speaking, we move to conquer new spaces, situations, and experiences. In my daily work, I represent the coming and going of people in different spaces and cities, or simply their wandering through streets and paths, capturing the linear transit of bodies that express their experiences and lives with their gestures, their way of dressing, and their manner of movement.

«To signify the mobility of social entities, and the places they pass through.»

I work with diverse supports and materials, using techniques such as watercolor, acrylic, and/or oil in varying dimensions, as well as clay modeling. In my works, I aim to rediscover the symbolic essence of each human being, delimiting their personal journey throughout human existence.

Lights and shadows, line, color, composition, and textures are protagonists in my pieces, along with abstract figures that move, walk, and wander voluntarily. I like to capture the lives of people who struggle, feel, and persevere in their daily journey.
