Artist Statement
"My work captures the fundamental human right to move, exploring the literal and metaphorical transit of social beings through the spaces and cities they inhabit."
Much of my creative career spans three decades of dialogue between reality and abstraction. I intentionally lean toward formal deconstruction, moving away from pure figuration to build a visual language where concept—and the visceral act of expressing it—takes center stage. For me, abstraction is the ultimate vehicle for externalizing the profound subjectivity of human existence.
Metaphorically, we move to conquer new emotional territories, physical spaces, and life experiences. In my daily practice, I investigate this continuous flow of people—their walking, their stopping, their collective and individual paths through the city streets. I map the linear transit of bodies, translating human experiences, gestures, and movement patterns onto the canvas.
I work with diverse surfaces and materials, letting the medium drive the narrative. In my acrylic and watercolor paintings, light, shadow, texture, and line are the true protagonists. Through dynamic layers, impasto, and gestural strokes, I juxtapose abstract figures that drift and persist on their daily journey. My goal is to rediscover the symbolic essence of each individual, tracing their personal odyssey through the contemporary landscape.
"Each work is a map. Each stroke, a footprint."
