ARTIST STATEMENT
"My work captures the fundamental human right to move — exploring the literal and metaphorical transit of social beings through the spaces and cities they inhabit."
My creative trajectory spans three decades of dialogue between reality and abstraction. I deliberately embrace formal deconstruction, moving beyond pure figuration to forge a visual language where the concept — and the visceral act of expressing it — takes center stage. For me, abstraction is the ultimate vessel for externalizing the profound subjectivity of human existence.
Metaphorically, we move to claim new emotional territories, physical spaces, and lived experiences. In my daily practice, I investigate the continuous flow of people — their walking, their pausing, their collective and solitary journeys through city streets. I chart the linear transit of bodies, translating human gestures, experiences, and movement patterns onto the canvas.
I work across diverse surfaces and materials, allowing the medium to drive the narrative. In my acrylic paintings and watercolors, light, shadow, texture, and line become the true protagonists. Through dynamic layering, impasto, and gestural mark-making, I juxtapose abstract figures that drift and persist in their daily passage. My aim is to rediscover the symbolic essence of each individual — tracing their personal odyssey through the contemporary landscape.
"Every work is a map. Every stroke, a footprint."
